Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th!!!! I wish it were actually my Friday but today is more like my Tuesday. Cole and I are both waiting for what we hope is good news this week.
This last week was wonderful, my parents and grandparents came to Lewiston on Friday to visit for the weekend. Originally I was supposed to work on Friday but I was put on call :) It worked out perfectly because it was Cole's last day at Red River and he came home early that day too. Anyway, we had an amazing brunch on Easter which was also my sister in law's birthday. The Easter bunny came and we were spoiled with way too much candy. Cache and I went back to boise for a couple of days and had a blast.  Here is a couple of pics from our Easter.

A litte update...

So clearly I am not good at updating our family blog. It’s been a little over a year since we have moved back to Lewiston and so much has changed. I’m not going to bore you with all of the little things; instead I will highlight the big and exciting details.
Cole was gone for most of the summer fighting fires in New Mexico and Arizona while I was prego, miserable and sicker than a dog. In July we finally signed for our first home in Lewiston. With the help of our families we painted, cleaned, fenced and replaced some flooring and then moved in our new home around the middle of August. (Before and after pics soon to come)
Cole moved back home in October after the fire season was finished and most importantly our son Cache (Cash) aka Bubba was born in December. He is our world and we couldn’t imagine life without him. He was born December 28th at 1:28 pm. He was 8lbs 5oz and 22inches long.  He looks so much like his daddy but acts like mom. When he is hungry the world is going to end and everyone better watch out! He loves to be around people, to be held, cuddled and gets very upset when he’s all alone. Okay… so he’s a little spoiled J He is a little wiggle monster, loves to stand and do exercises with daddy. I’m pretty sure Cache thinks his name is Bubba. Cole is a natural daddy, he is the ultimate burper, nail clipper and most of the time knows exactly what the Bubba wants.

We are so glad to have Cole around more often now. Cole went back to Red River for work about 2 weeks ago and his last day of work at Red River was Friday. He quit so he could find something closer to Lewiston. We are praying he gets the job in Pomeroy or somewhere close so he can be home every night with us.
Well I am now realizing why I haven’t kept up with our blog. Life is so busy, especially with a little one. I will try and keep things updated. I guess we will have to see how things go.

Back to the Lew

So in case you might be wondering what is new with Cole and I... Here is is…we have moved back to Lewiston.

After graduating from nursing school I accepted a job at the St. Luke's hospital in Twin Falls. In a matter of 2 weeks after graduation we had ventured off to Costa Rica with the Robinson family and found ourselves moving across the state.  I spent the summer working and studying for the NCLEX (The Nursing licensing exam) while Cole worked his tail off 7 1/2 hours away in Red River. Although it was challenging, I passed my NCLEX and we managed to see each other often. When Cole moved home in October I was so thrilled. We were finally back to a somewhat normal life and I was no longer a single mother to our dogs. Moving away was a good experience for the both of us but we discovered our hearts belonged in Lewiston. (Cole said he didn’t have to move to realize it… I on the other hand, had to move away to discover this).  Cole had been looking for jobs within the forest service in Southern Idaho but wasn't successful. I did like my job and was finally starting to feel I was getting the hang of things but found myself really missing Lewiston. I also didn’t want to spend another summer 7 ½ hours away from Cole. (Can you blame me?) So randomly I applied for a position at St. Joseph hospital in Lewiston.  It worked out perfectly because they called for an interview when I was going to be in the Lewiston over the holidays. When they called offered me a position in float pool Cole and I were ecstatic.  We were literally jumping on the bed.
I did a little bit of this...............
And Cole did a little bit of this....

Next we called some family and friends to share the good news. I’m not exactly sure why we love Lewiston so much. Maybe is the fresh morning scent of Potlatch that just takes your breath away…. Okay maybe not. Haha. What I am sure of is we have exceptional family and friends there and it feels like home.
The only negative about moving back to Lewiston is moving further away from my family. Family has always been so important to me. I am really close with my parents and grandparents. I knew would be difficult. I was so blessed over the past few months because I was able to see my family often because they were less than two hours away. So although my family was upset they understood.I guess they were just glad we weren't moving across the country. I know I will still visit often.
Once again we packed up our stuff in to the largest U-Haul possible and moved across the state. We are now here, which is back the Lew.

We are currently staying with my In-laws, the Robinson’s and I couldn’t feel more blessed.  I’m sure many people would find themselves going crazy staying with their in-laws but I don’t see that happening considering they are amazing and easy going people. A fun fact about the Robinson house is there are more dogs there than people. There are a total of 7 dogs and 6 people including Cole and myself. Don’t worry It’s not a mad house. For the most part all of the dogs get along and stay out of trouble. I love how each one of them has their own little personality.
After moving and getting all settled I discovered there is only one problem: Cole and I have two perfect kids….our dogs.
My dog Molly a (Shih Tzu)
and Cole’s dog Black Hawk (Border Collie).

The delima is that I have fallen in love with another dog, Maggie, whom I would like to keep as my own. Cole’s parents are currently taking the role of her foster parents. Maggie is a great dane/german sheppard mix. Now let me be the first to admit I am NOT a big dog type of person Maggie is the exception.  She is the biggest cuddle bug and follows me around.

Cole refuses to let me keep her and I doubt I will ever be able to change his mind. I guess three dogs just might be too many for us. (Especially when we don’t even have our own home right now). I truly hope she can find a good home. If anyone knows of a good home please let me know.

Well that’s all for our first blog. Thanks for joining us.
